Pistoia, October 3rd – The countdown to Eurogym 2026 continues

The countdown continues for Eurogym 2026, the main continental gymnastics event, which will arrive in Pistoia next year. The appointment is set for July 2026, when the city will welcome around 6,000 young people aged 12 to 18.

In anticipation of the event, Eurogym Pistoia 2026 — the great European festival of gymnastics for all — was officially presented in the beautiful setting of the Sala Maggiore of the Municipality of Pistoia. From 8 to 17 July 2026, the festival will bring over 5,000 young athletes from all over Europe to the city.

In the presence of city authorities, sports institutions, local associations, and representatives from the local economy, the Local Organizing Committee “Pistoia for Eurogym 2026”, together with European Gymnastics and the Italian Gymnastics Federation, outlined the goals and opportunities of an event that promises to be one of the most significant sporting and cultural occasions hosted by Italy in 2026.

“The Foundation immediately expressed its willingness to support the event from the very candidacy stage,” said Luca Gori, President of Fondazione Caript. “We will stand alongside the Local Organizing Committee and the local administrations so that this European event becomes an important moment for the city of Pistoia and its productive, economic, and social community.”

During the presentation, the main features of the event were described: performances, workshops, shows, and cultural activities that will animate the city for ten days, turning it into an international stage dedicated to sport, celebration, and cultural exchange.

“For us in Pistoia, bringing Eurogym to life,” said Alessandra Mazzatosta, President of the Local Organizing Committee, “means opening our city — and our hearts — to Europe. Known for its warmth, hospitality, and cultural treasures, Pistoia is ready to welcome thousands of young gymnasts and create together an atmosphere of friendship, energy, and joy.”

Beyond the sporting and cultural aspects, great attention was given to the economic and touristic impact that the event will generate for the Pistoia area and the Tuscany region, with thousands of athletes, coaches, families, and supporters expected. The involvement of local businesses and associations will also play a key role in the organizational effort.

“Eurogym will not just be a sports festival,” emphasized Executive Director Simone Monaco, “but an extraordinary opportunity for the entire city to open up to the world and express itself through the values of sharing, joy, and participation. Several important partners have already chosen to stand by our side, including Conad Nord Ovest, Decathlon, Allianz Pistoia Assicura, and Hotel Villa Cappugi. We invite all local companies to seize this unique opportunity to become partners in an event that will bring international visibility to Pistoia and all of Tuscany.”

“Conad Nord Ovest is proud to support Eurogym Pistoia 2026, an event of great value that celebrates sport as a driver of growth, health, and social cohesion among younger generations,” said Maurizio Barsacchi, Marketing, Innovation, and Organization Director of Conad Nord Ovest. “For the first time in Italy, Pistoia will host this major international event, welcoming thousands of young athletes and families from all over Europe — an extraordinary opportunity to promote the city and showcase the excellence of our region. We are grateful to the City Administration for the trust placed in us and for choosing us as a partner with whom to share common values and goals. We will contribute financially, but also with an active presence throughout the event, with a dedicated space inside the ‘La Cattedrale’ exhibition center. Through this initiative, we aim to strengthen our bond with the community and promote the values of sport as a tool for education and inclusion, capable of uniting and generating collective well-being.”

“Decathlon is pleased to announce its role as Official Technical Partner of Eurogym Pistoia 2026. This partnership, fully aligned with our mission to make the benefits and joy of sport accessible to everyone, will see us actively involved in ensuring the success of the event,” commented Giuseppe Nunziata, Area Manager B2B for Tuscany at Decathlon. “Being the Technical Partner of such an important event — one that celebrates the universality of gymnastics and the meeting of cultures — is a great honor for us. We will make our experience and product range available to support athletes, staff, and volunteers, contributing to an unforgettable sporting experience for the 5,000 expected participants. This collaboration further strengthens our commitment to promoting grassroots sport and inclusion — values that Eurogym perfectly embodies.”

Local institutions also expressed strong support, working closely with the Local Organizing Committee to prepare an event that will mark a milestone for Pistoia, Tuscany, and Italy.

In the coming weeks, Bulletin #2 will be published, containing further logistical and organizational details, as well as participation information for institutions, associations, volunteers, and sponsors wishing to contribute to the success of Eurogym Pistoia 2026.
